"We must help the child to act for himself, will for himself, think for himself; this is the art of those who aspire to serve the spirit." Dr. Maria Montessori, Education for a New World
Dr Maria Montessori

Harmony Montessori Center provides a positive and encouraging learning environment based on the educational methods developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. The children learn through the use of materials that promote independence in the classroom as well as group activities and outdoor play.

Montessori Method

Our methods allow children to learn at their own pace in a natural and peaceful environment.

The Joy of Learning

Story time with preschoolers at Harmony

In the Montessori classroom, the children learn through discovery and are motivated by their own interest and excitement. In this atmosphere, the children are encouraged to develop a positive self-image and to experience the satisfaction of success. The joy and enthusiasm for learning that come from such experiences lay a strong foundation for future education and for life itself.

The classroom environment is arranged so that the children move naturally through a progression of hands-on materials, which satisfy their emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs. In addition, the children build a strong academic foundation in math, language, writing, geography, and science. Also, at Harmony, the children are given lessons on creative movement, art and music.
